Logline & Premise
Logline: In an isolated, dimly lit apartment bedroom, a young man stares into his mirror. But what stares back isn't an optical reflection—it is Nilal (நிழல் - Shadow), an unblinking entity wearing his face with a chilling, dilated smile that refuses to follow his movements.
NILAL captures deep psychological dread without reliance on loud jump scares. The fear builds through lingering eye contact, unnatural head tilts, eerie lighting shadows, and unsettling sound design.
Horror Cinematography
The film utilizes low-key lighting, cool blue shadows, and claustrophobic framing to immerse the viewer in the terror of the protagonist's unraveling reality.
Generative Horror & Micro-Expressions
The doppelgänger smile was engineered through micro-expression diffusion, creating an unnerving dissonance between human appearance and predatory presence.
